Those of us who’ve pre-ordered a nook from Barnes & Noble might be a pit peeved to find out that you can’t currently use a Barnes & Noble gift certificate to buy books through your nook. While not an issue right now, since the nook isn’t available until next week. (We’ve pre-ordered one, and will have a full write up and comparison when it arrives.)
The good news is that according to a Barnes & Noble official message board, gift certificates will be available soon.
Kindle gift certificates, as you may know, have been available since the Kindle was originally put out. In addition, any Amazon gift certificate will work on a Kindle once added to your account.
To me, this is a big mistake on Barnes & Noble’s part. Gift certificates are a big way that people pay for things, especially books via the digital means.
Are gift certificates a big deal to you? Are you holding off until the nook offers the ability to use a gift certificate? Or is the fact that they’re out of stock, completely, holding you back from ordering a nook?
