News from around the Kindle world this week:

  • “Amazon App for BlackBerry is Out! Kindle For BlackBerry Next?” – IReadReview.com – Amazon has released their Official App for BlackBerry. The App, much like the iPhone App, allows you to shop Amazon from your BlackBerry, use 1-Click to place orders and utilizes the amazing tool Amazon Remembers. The Remembers tool lets users upload photos of products to Amazon, and Amazon will email them when they have found a matching product in their database.
  • “What’s On Your Kindle?” – LivingOprah.com – I’ve written about LivingOprah before, and was just starting to wonder if she ever did buy the Kindle Oprah recommended. She posted recently about her experience with the Kindle 2. She says,
I have to say…I’m underwhelmed. I mean, it’s a supercool toy. Definitely. It’s light and easy to tote around. But it’s weird for me to read without a) page numbers and b) the ability to flip back and forth through a book.

She continues by citing some other common user complaints – not all books are available on the Kindle, $9.99 is still more expensive than the library, etc. She does, however, have a recommendation for all the single ladies out there. Click through to her post for more information.

  • “The pros and cons of traveling with Kindle” – USA Today – The article features a simple list of pros and cons, as well as some in-depth details about what makes Kindle such a great travel tool.
