Kindle DX with Global Wireless on the way

While the Kindle DX isn’t yet available with global wireless, it looks like a global version is on the way shortly. Engadget has a screenshot of an Amazon page with a dead link that reads “Kindle DX Now with Global Wireless.”

Hopefully that means an announcement from Amazon will come shortly. This could also help explain the current 2-3 week shipping timeframe for the DX – just before the Kindle 2 was announced, the original Kindle went out of stock. Perhaps Amazon has purposely run down its stock of the US Wireless DX in order to introduce the Global Wireless DX to the market.
