A start-up company called Spring Design claims they were in talks with Barnes & Noble regarding an e-reader they were planning on building, and that Barnes & Noble misappropriated trade secrets while creating the Nook. An article on CNet.com, shows the start-up’s version of an e-reader, featuring the Android operating system and a two-screen layout like the Nook.
The start-up is suing Barnes & Noble, though the news doesn’t mention whether they’re seeking damages only or an injunction on the Nook, which is scheduled to ship November 30th.
